Vegas!

Two weeks ago, we took a family trip to Las Vegas. We had a wonderful time! Ryan had tickets to see U2 in concert so his best friend Josh met us there. We had a great long weekend. Our first two nights we spent 'off the strip' at the JW Marriott Resort and Spa. We were hosted as their VIP guests. We stayed in a two bedroom suite (over 2200 square feet) with a living room, dining room, kitchen area, wrap around balcony overlooking their amazing waterfall, two bedrooms both with king size beds, three bathrooms, two Jacuzzi tubs, and eight phones. It was amazing. As part of our stay we were treated to free spa treatments, free meals every day and snacks and treats delivered to our room. They even brought Josh his own rollaway bed for the hidden corner nook in the living room. It was truly amazing! Ryan and Josh LOVED the concert!

One of the days we were in Vegas, we were hosted by Emeril Lagasse himself (unfortunately he wasn't there), to dinner at Emeril's Fish House at the MGM Resort. Talk about AMAZING! The food and service is something my mom is still talking about. We didn't just have lunch, we feasted! They even brought the boys two individual cheese pizzas! Sam and Andy both loved their pizza (and were well behaved - Thank Goodness!)

Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, the last night we were in town (without our friend Josh who left a night early), we were hosted by the Planet Hollywood Resort on the strip to a night in one of their most elaborate suites. It had a panoramic view of the strip with floor to ceiling windows and a view of the Bellagio light show. The room was unforgettable and probably one of the coolest hotel experiences I've ever had. Sam had so much fun watching the helicopters that fly over the strip giving tours. Our only regret was that we only had one night to spend there and had to leave before daylight the next morning. That is definitely a hotel we plan to return to soon!

Our whole trip was a once in a lifetime dream...and yet we are blessed to have those kind of once in a lifetime experiences pretty often because of my 'work from home' venture. I began to worry a little that my boys are going to think that that kind of extravagance is normal. I will make sure and tell them regularly that we are just very blessed that mom's work allows them to have such remarkable experiences and that we should treasure every memory and learn something in every adventure.
